The Proust Geometrica desined by Alessandro Mendini in 1978 for the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara “was immediately recognized as an icon of twentieth century design and one of the most renowned and essential reference points in the quest for form and aesthetic perfection”. In 1993 Cappellini inherited the design and continued the tradition of hand upholstering and finishing the original Proust Geometrica armchair while refreshing them and breathing new life into the image and value of the original design.
