Interesting Looking Bookcase for A Creative Living Room

Books bring a very special feeling to a place and if you think about it, they also offer nobility. We are major book fans here and up to now, we tried to find interesting storage places for them. Recently we’ve ran across yet another great design for a bookcase. We know you might not remember this, but this is quite similar to another post that we had published on Freshome a while ago.  It is a design that brakes the usual pattern of books on horizontal shelves and brings something new to the table. It is also very aesthetic and practical. You could use each shelf for a particular letter of the alphabet in order to find the books a lot easier. For a residence that has a lot of living space, a whole room could be used in this manner. We imagine it would be a great place for reading and relaxation. What do you think?

I love this bookcase! Here’s my problem and I would love some help. I have around 3000 books. This in only the hardback books. I do have several hundred paperback books. However, I do not perfer them. I only keep paperbacks if they were gifts from loved ones or if I can not find the hardback for the perticular book that I am looking for.Once the book is found then I give away the paperback. Anyway, I digress. My home is only 2200 sq. ft.(minus the two in-law suites) and in this small space I have wall to wall furniture. Too much actually. I have displayed my precious books in our two spare bedrooms. Quest in our home never seemed to mind them and many times have loved having them there to enjoy. Until recently.
My stepfater passed away and my mom needed a new home. We invited her to live with us and took one of the spare bedrooms and added on to it and made her a beautiful little suite. She loves it but my books had to go into boxes and sit to collect dust in spare bedroom #2. Now the same senario has come up with my dad. He has sold his home in Texas and is moving to Louisiana with me. The only child. Of course we will have to do the same for him that we did for mom. So now I have to pack up this room of around 1200 books, plus the 8 boxes of around 1200 or so that is just sitting in there. There is no where to put these books except in storage. We have added on 2 new suites , 700 extra sq. ft. each to our home. I do not have the funds or property to add on a library. I really do not want to store them. I love my books like some ladies love their diamonds. I tried this bookcase that is pictured above. I love it. We build it into one wall in the dining room. It looks great in there but does not actually hold as many books as you many think. It is kind of misleading in that way.
Can anyone give me some ideas on ways to display my wonderful friends throughout the house without having to put them away i storage. So sad! Just so you will know, I have limited wall space to build more cases. I also love art. I have many great pieces. Of course they are prints and only cost between $50 and $200 dollars a piece, but to me they are fabulous.
So whats the answer? Thank you, Pam B.
