Caroline Arber

TGIF! I thought in honour of the end of the work week I’d treat you all to a visual feast by super talented photographer Caroline Arber. Her photos appear effortless…and natural…and calming. Just what I need. (It’s been a long week).

New from Mim

20 Jan

I like the clean lines in the design that make it functional but not overly modern. The kitchen and dining area with the glass-paneled ceiling with all the greenery is so refreshing and light.

I also like the bedroom and living area with the fireplace and shelving that is very clean and streamlined.

Great designs by Mim.

I want to work here!!!

20 Jan

Can you imagine going to work every day and in between tasks being able to get a tattoo, get in some target practice at a shooting range, hang out in a tree house, slide down a fireman’s pole, have a milkshake snack at a canteen…all without leaving the office?!?! Yes, that is the insane workplace of Missing Link, corporate presentation designers based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Makes my drab, mismatched office with busted, dirty chairs (and everyone thinks the federal government wastes money – not on furniture they don’t!) look even worse. We can’t even get coffee without having to trudge across the street in snow… (more details via VISI)

Andre Rothblatt

How about a few photos from another San Francisco based architecture firm – this time it’s Andre Rothblatt. A monstrous coffee machine with it’s own nook, a funky stove and hood fan, one of the strangest tubs I’ve ever seen…

Schwartz and Architecture

SaA – Schwartz and Architecture is based in San Francisco and I love them. Their work is modern but not too modern, they use lots of wood which keeps their designs feeling not too cold, they use lots of large windows to ensure the homeowners thoroughly enjoy their views. What’s not to love about this?!

Stacey Brandford all over again

Stacey Brandford all over again

Nothing is better than returning to a favourite photographer’s website after a prolonged absence and finding out that things are just the same. The work is still fabulous, the talent still shines through. The images are still crisp and clear. The rooms are gorgeous and the pictures are almost like portals to another place. Seems like I could still walk straight into these shots. After all this time things are still the way I remember them except … there are so many more wonderful new images. Fresh and fab! One of our all time favourite Canadian photographers Stacey Brandford.
