New work from Antonio Martins

21 Jul

An eclectic mix of vintage, industrial and modern pieces defines the latest home by San Francisco interior designer Antonio Martins. Starting with an impressive concrete and steel base in a home designed by Zack de Vito Aarchitecture, Martins has layered not only furnishings and finishes but meaning into the modern decor. Favourites besides the Cassina Cab chairs in the dining room? The fab string of lights hanging through the stairwell and the personal touches like the b&w photos of family and friends casually propped on steel shelves. (More of Antonio Martins’ here and here.)

I’m so in love with desire to inspire. The images on each of your pages provide a respite from the crazy, stressful days working in a corporate environ, so much so I tend to come back three or four times a day. Each time, I see something new in the posts.

One repeated feature in most if not all the homes you show are the dark floors. I. Love. Them. so I have to ask, does anyone know exactly what the stain is? In my apt I’ve used Dark Walnut but the color just isn’t uniform as in these pics and I’m wondering if Jacobean would have been a better choice. Also, is satin a better finish for a home with children rather than the high gloss?

Have a great day everyone!

An eclectic mix of antique and contemporary, the found and the precious. This Tennessee Street, San Francisco home by interior designer Antonio Martins is about an artist’s soul and an artist’s eye. A base note of white builds with layers of texture and warm muted colours building to a crescendo of vibrant red. Timeless, unique, passionate just like the designer and owner.
