We recently received an e-mail from Stellavie, a graphic design studio from Hamburg, Germany, informing us of their new lampshade collection. We enjoyed their work and decided to showcase 10 of our favourite designs. But before that, here is the project description they sent us: “The lampshades are lasercut with various patterns (abstract but delicately arranged, precious embroidery transformed into contemporary pixel-baroque) on the most beautiful paper we can find: the papers are sometimes structured, sometimes shimmering, changing in colour depending on the perspective and always of the highest standard. Within our approach we are fascinated with a multitude of directions: graphic design, typography, interior and product design – in general: a love for details and surprising ideas. Graphic design meets clever understanding of materials meets modern production techniques meets interior design ideas. Carefully crafted design is translated into glowing shades of beauty.” Do you like the atmosphere these lampshades manage to create?

The quintessential fireplace is almost redundant in the modern design continuum. The Solaris Gas Fireplace by Heat & Glo is another stunning iteration of the archetypical fireplace. Like the real thing, these giant champagne glass lamps will put a little bubbly into your day. We love the effervescent quality of the Mood Change Crystal Lamps by Moise. These luxury lamps were inspired by high-end homes, lavish hotels, and the hottest restaurants and clubs where crowds flock to drink in the atmosphere as much as the cocktails. The lamps are handcrafted using precisely cut Bohemian crystal and illuminated with state-of-the-art LED lighting, which gives them their romantic, unforgettable glow. The lamps come in three designs, leaving tabletops adorned with upright “glasses” while inverted pendant lamps glimmer overhead, creating continuity in the room. Designed by Joseph Walsh for his “Formations” collection, this beautiful elegant Enignum Canopy Bed has the ability to turn a bedroom into a royal chamber. This bed look fascinating and its ethereal presence has the ability of instantly relaxing its user. The unusual curves and the wooden structure makes this design a part of nature. Sleeping in it will feel like a natural experience, but a glamorous one as well. Even though this furniture item requires a lot of space, its stylish shape and the royal atmosphere that it provides makes up for this minor setback. Suited for an “haute decor” with ostentatious arrangements, the Enignum Canopy Bed will surely draw the attention of anyone visiting the interior within which it is integrated. OMA is certainly on a roll these days when it comes to winning commissions for spectacular public spaces. The famed architectural firm headed by Rem Koolhaus recently revealed their winning design for the Bibliothèque Multimédia à Vocation Régionale (BMVR), an incredible new library to be located on the tip of the peninsula of Caen, France. The BMVR will mark the firm’s first cultural building in France with an area of nearly 130,000 square feet across two intersecting masses clad in gleaming floor to ceiling windows. Underscored by a sustainable design program, the new structure will feature an energy efficient system able to respond to local climactic conditions and confluent floor plans that will both maximize natural light and create a comfortable and inspiring atmosphere for visitors to convene and be enlightened.

Here is minimalist but extremely elegant apartment design from HofmanDujardin Architects, a studio with an impressive portfolio from the Netherlands. According to the designers, the apartment has been fully renovated and features a kitchen integrated in the living room, an inviting bedroom and a terrace.  You are looking at a modern crib with light colors and natural materials which create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Painted entirely in white, the 120 square meter apartment inspires freshness and gives away the illusion of more living space. Order and harmony seem to reign over this beautiful loft and it is hard to imagine something could be in a different place. Have you ever seen so much vitality in an apartment before? Usually, when we are dealing with so many colors, we have to overcome the huge risk of visually jamming up a room. However, in this situation it seems that everything is in its right place and the atmosphere that this apartment inspires is that of extreme energy and jauntiness. Especially designed for a young working couple, this house is meant to be a fusion of passions and interests. As their styles were very different and both wanted some of their own furniture to be integrated in within the new home, things were pretty challenging for the designers. All throughout the crib, you will notice interesting decorating elements such as classic wood furniture (his influence ) and unusual masks and shoes ornaments (for her). We have to say the end result is creative, fun and unconventional.-via micasa

You have seen many homes on Freshome that feature stone and brick walls. You probably not imagined that this idea would be taken further and be applied to a furniture set. This highly original collection called “Bricks&Mortar” includes a chair, a love seat and a sofa, all featuring a very interesting upholstering material. After all, who says bricks can only be used as building materials? We don’t know about you guys, but we find these items quite interesting and out of the ordinary. We think they would go great in a creative interior, surrounded by a simple color palette and a minimalist decor. And perhaps a few flower pots also to cheer up the atmosphere. Our constant search for indoor solutions regarding the  interior design of small homes usually pays off big time. ‘My Life in 80m² is an ingenious residential living project meant to demonstrate that the size of a crib has little to do with the comfort and design quality it can provide. This idea comes from Italian company Poliform and its originality can be found in a series of unusual combinations of elements and colors. Light glows peacefully and the overall atmosphere is that of calm and serenity. This small place is highly efficient, as you can also observe in the three plans below. Unfortunately, we were not able to find out how much was the allocated budget for this project. We know that Poliform is about “high design/ low budget”, but we find this place to be exuberant and expensive. What do you think?- via dsgnWrld
