Located in London, on Mallow Street, this contemporary apartment stands out due to its unusual design. With two floors, high ceilings, large and inclined windows, this place was built on the site of an old warehouse. It is located at the fourth floor and is reachable by elevator also. Getting back to the interior design, you will notice some great furniture elements, such as interesting tables with a rustic effect, a huge floor lamp, a couch filled with giant pillows and a few wooden tools randomly placed in the living-room. The place has two large bedrooms with king-size beds. Decorative elements such as plants, paintings, are also present, creating diversity and contributing to the stylish and leading-edge atmosphere.-via Urban Spaces

From Parsonson Architects comes Salamanca House, a residence located in a historically listed site. This usually comes as a major restrain for most architects, as the plans of the project must blend in with the environment. Moreover, this building had to be “added” to a 1900’s house, having to fit in a narrow space within the original construction. In the pictures below you have the final results, a project which respected its brief entirely and an interesting building as well. Here is some information from the architecture firm: “The resultant dwelling fully utilizes its site. Space for the bedrooms and garaging was excavated below, forming a base to the lighter living spaces above. The roof is clad in zinc and is cut and folded cleanly to focus views out to the harbor and diagonally to the trees, while at the same time providing a sense of enclosure and privacy.”

We know you like themes, so today we would like to show you this stylish apartment located in Stockholm. All throughout the rooms, there are small decorative items and interesting patterns, most of them having a turquoise tinge.  The rooms are spacious, fresh and unconventional furniture give the flat a contemporary feel and the colors are vivid. The apartment stretches over an area of 159 square meters and features four bedrooms, a large balcony, a terrace, two bathrooms and a fireplace. Its interior design, size and location are all very much included in its price. Its new potential owner will have to pay no less than $1.34 million in order to live here. From Rangr Studio comes the breathtaking Casa Kimball. If Freshome still had the “dream homes” section, this would have definitely been a perfect candidate for our list. We will start with the things that particularly got our attention and continue with the rest. First off- have you noticed its location? Kasa Kimball is situated on a cliff, neighbored by the Atlantic Ocean and with fantastic views of the little thing from almost every room of the villa. The next striking thing – a beautiful three edge infinity pool located by the ocean. Using a  blue reflective tile,  the architects say that the pool’s surface changes color to match the ocean– gray, aquamarine, and deep blue. Also, when the guests of the villa swim in the pool towards the ocean, it gives them the illusion of actually swimming in the Atlantic. Last, but not least, a cliff-top jacuzzi comes to make us even more eager to experience water in an exotic place. The place has 8 bedrooms, public spaces for dining and private meetings. It can also be rented for events and holiday retreats for the sum of $4000 a day in high season. Have we awaken your interest?

From  Sociedad Anónima Arquitectos, CASAOPTIMA is located in Santiago, Chile and comes to show us a successful mix between a modern architecture, interior design and sustainability.  it is a do-over of an old French-style housing from the 40’s. The architects  turned it into an area of 5 apartments with 1 and 2 bedrooms. As we already mentioned, this residence is also environmental friendly. Here are some words from its developers regarding this matter: “The goal is to revitalize the old houses CASAOPTIMA and incorporate new technologies that bring benefits to its residents such as energy savings through solar panels and water saving devices incorporated to help reduce consumption.  They are also buildings that are environmentally friendly because they include containers for recycling garbage” and this house, as you can see is equipped with such devices. This residence for a couple and their two children utilizes the foundations and walls of an existing single-story post-war bungalow. The traditional placement of private spaces above public spaces is inverted, with bedrooms and bathrooms placed at the main floor level, while a new second story places the kitchen, living and dining spaces into one large communal room with views overlooking Cascade mountain range. A large operable skylight marks the center of the room.

A sustainable and eco-friendly home that was both cost-efficient and easy to build, the exclusive “Chestnut House” was designed with an ambient feel in mind. The location at Newport Beach adds a tinge of luxury and gives the home more than enough power for harvesting the sun’s power via solar panels attached to the Energy Star Cool roof. It is a modern family home equipped with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, with bare walls that have not been painted (for better preservation and to avoid toxic emissions), recycled glass floors, and renewable resources that make it perfect for the green minded. – Via

the design is an updated concept of 190 green streetwith improvements in layouts, circulation and the design of the rear yard area. the design is a balance act of the strict nyc regulations for floor area with the less strict rules for height and bulk.

Goal was it to give certain areas more height (17′ in living areas) and other ones the standard 8′ (bedrooms and bathrooms).
