Decorative Textured Surfaces By CaesarStone

24 Nov

The visually striking decorative textured surfaces by CaesarStone aims at providing an unparalleled blend of style and functionality. Providing respite from the usual prosaic walls and countertops, the decorative textured surfaces are typified by a rare spirit of poised experimentation that seems to mirrors CaesarStone’s design philosophy. Take for instance the Motivo Lace surface which seeks inspiration from floral lace and will add a touch of elegance to any bedroom, living room or dynamic space. On the other hand, the Motivo Crocodile surface is decadent and luxurious and makes an indomitable design statement.

Mixing Metals in the Kitchen

16 Nov

{Steven Gambrel}

As a kitchen designer, I get asked constantly about mixing metal finishes in the kitchen.  People tend to get a little matchy when it comes to their appliances, decorative hardware, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and even decorative metal hoods.  I’m here to say that it doesn’t have to match!  In fact, I usually prefer it not.  Steven Gambrel mixed warm gold decorative hardware (very bravely I might add – not an easy sell) with stainless steel appliances.

In “The Holiday” kitchen, stainless steel appliances and decorative hardware works with darker toned light fixtures.

This traditional white kitchen features polished nickel faucet plumbing fixtures (my favorite) with silver toned decorative hardware (can’t quite tell if the finish is brushed or polished) and a black light fixture.

The kitchens in the photos above and below make the case for matching your decorative hardware, plumbing fixtures, and appliances.  The look is clean and fuss-free.

I love the polished nickel pulls and plumbing fixtures that make this otherwise simple kitchen sparkle.

Gomes’s Caesarstone Table

26 Apr

Originally designed for the Caesarstone Design Competition, designer Pedro Gomes’s creative and fluid table design would serve as an amazing furniture piece for those of us who love the heavy reflective quality of quartz surfacing.  A curvilinear but grounded design, the storage space and smooth, simple surface allows the table design to serve several interesting uses.  It might be a great desk for a bright, open room, a creative coffee table to complement your wide living room arrangement or an accent table for condensed loft or apartment spaces.  It might even be interesting to see its application outdoors as well, possibly as a serving table for those summer barbeques. – via
