Italian company Zazzeri has raised the curtain on a couple of real stars for the modern bathroom – the Round and Quadro showers. Geared up for their big reveal next month at Cersaie 2010 taking place in Bologna, Italy, these contemporary new shower columns are designed to deliver comfort and convenience while putting chic European style right at your fingertips. These modern shower fixtures smartly position the water pressure and temperature controls in a sleek, streamlined column, complemented by a coordinating hand shower and both finished in elegant polished chrome or satin nickel. The Round (pictured above) features gentle cylinders, while the Quadro column (below) features an edgy squared shape suited to any contemporary bathroom design. From contemporary Swiss design firm Ign. Design., the IGN.TIMBER.NIGHT natural wood bed is an invitation to sweet dreams. It’s the imperfections in this rustic piece of furniture that make it so… perfect. The natural, knotty wood – available in the choice of solid walnut or oak – features a gorgeous, multi-toned grain and it’s all raised up on feet. The Danish firm Valbaek Borup Architects has brought to market this fresh prefab home that perfectly balances contemporary design with eco-friendly features. The white-clad home displays classic Danish restraint in its design but takes a very modern approach to energy efficiency. Outfitted with solar-thermal panels and a wonderful living roof and deck, this elegant home is a strong example of the potential of sustainable prefab housing.

We know some of you guys enjoy beach home designs so here is an interesting project from Studio27 Architecture located on Fire Island in New York. We’ve heard that all houses in the Pines of Fire region have a similar architecture which is said to reflect the pragmatism of the local community and are easily recognizable due to this factor. However, the architects said they tried to add a little extra “spirit of the shore”  to this particular project and make it stand out. Built from woven cedar boards, the residence has a warm and friendly feel. Its exterior looks quite inviting, particularly the pool area with the beautiful furniture additions. The surrounding trees offer a convenient amount of shade while cheering up the atmosphere. The interiors have a contemporary design and feature modern arrangements.
