Original Design And Architecture: Modern Home in Spain by OmasC Architects

16 Mar

Designed by OmasC Architects, this modern home is located in Candamo, Spain and comes as an example of original design and architecture. The home has a very interesting structure: two individual areas were joined together- one is for day time activities and the other is used as a night zone.  A large parking lot was connected to the building site by using stone slabs. Light was an important factor which stood at the basis of the design. Windows are present everywhere, allowing natural light to mingle with the homey atmosphere. We developed a special interest in the outdoor covered platform which is an original element in housing design. The interiors are airy, spacious and let out a warm atmosphere. How do you like this place?-via DigsDigs

Imposing Residence From Shun Hirayama Architecture : “Les Aventuriers”

11 Mar

Les Aventuriers” comes from Shun Hirayama Architecture and is an imposing hillside residence located in Kanagawa Prefecture, an area with beautiful surroundings. The owners wanted a peaceful home that would be integrated in a natural environment. However, when it came to design and architecture, the land was not as peaceful. The house is built on a slope which means you will find angled walls and various ceiling heights. We really liked a concept put together by the developers of the project, as it brings an unique interpretation of the overall design. And here it is: “We produced a path that possesses comfortable straight eyesight, analogous to walking between trees. The path connects the inside and the outside, and again backs to the inside without a dead-end.” We hope you will like the “tree-house feel” of this place and we are looking forward to your comments.-via Design Boom

Green Covered Taipei Music Center by Mario Bellini Architects

Green Covered Taipei Music Center by Mario Bellini Architects, taiper pop music center, mario bellini architects, green design, eco design, sustainable design, green architecture

We’re totally intrigued by this pop music center for Taipei and its striking resemblance to a rolling green hill. Conceived by Italian firm Mario Bellini Architects, the design is “a single body wrapped in a plastic ‘mantle plant’,” according to our friends at Designboom. While we aren’t sure how sustainable this plastic ‘mantle plant’ is, or even what it is for that matter, we were taken with the creative landscaping and creation of an exciting outdoor public area for the people of the Taipei. The proposed structure would also have glass passageways, letting visitors look out onto the city. If anyone has any more information about the eco-features of this center, we’d love to hear them – so share your thoughts in the comments below.

GEOtube is A Building That Grows Its Own Weblike Saline Skin

25 Feb

It may sound a bit creepy, but wouldn’t it be cool if buildings could grow their own skin? California-based architecture firm Faulders Studio certainly thinks so. GEOtube, their proposal for Dubai is almost exactly like a normal building – except for the fact that it will have the ability to generate a web-like saline skin that spreads down the façade of the structure over time. Sounds like neighbors will always know where they can borrow some salt!

Oppenheim’s Sloping Beach Tower Hides a Green Oasis Inside

Sloping towards the open sea, Oppenheim’s luxurious mixed-use tower for the United Arab Emirates is both elegant and a model of efficiency. If you look closely, the pixelated residences comprising the development sprawl fluidly away from the lush garden oasis hidden at its base and onto the sandy beach. The design was conceived specifically to maximize the quantity of units available on the water while minimizing the amount of energy used.

Small Contemporary Prefab Home : Easy to Build and Sustainable

Because of our many comments here on Freshome demanding that we should also share with you guys ideas that are easier to put to practice and homes that are more affordable, today we would like to present a house that fits this requested profile. HIVE Modular is a company that produces and sells prefab modular homes also taking into consideration their design architecture. The buildings are not only unique in style, but very easy to put together (comparing with other type of constructions) and made up of sustainable materials. The project in the pictures below is called “B-Line Small” and it was built with a cost of  $185/sq ft. It has 6 rooms and a total of 990 sq feet. If you are to build this sort of home at a smaller scale, the would be reduced accordingly. -via DigsDigs

Searching and Finding Inspiration for an Amazing Apartment

11 May

In the beginning Freshome was just a small place where I’ve gathered some inspiration for an apartment that I wanted to buy in the future. Day by day I was surfing online searching and trying to find more and more ideas for that perfect apartment. As you can see today there are a lot of amazing ideas on Freshome, but what I’ve found today really blew my mind. This is not a real apartment, is just a 3D picture created by a very talented 3D Modeler from Turkey called Elftug. To be honest, now after 2 years of searching ideas, I really want to transform this idea intro reality. I don’t know if this would be possible and what kind of apartment I would need for this project, but this is really awesome …don’t you think ?
