New from Domus Nova (#3)

16 Mar

This is the last home for today from Domus Nova, and seems to be the least oddball of the bunch. Except it has a large hippo bar in the living room….and a quirky Ron Arad Paperdelle bronze chair (that’s like a chair and a runner in one!) near the front door….and a weird porthole thing in the floor with matching skylight….

New from Domus Nova (#2)

15 Mar

Here’s another intriguing home offered for rent during the Olympics by Domus Nova, that is a little quirky in it’s 4 bedroom, 2351 sq ft splendor. Re-modeled by Roland Cowan Architects and interior-designed by Christian de Falbe with a boutique, boudoir feel throughout the formal reception space boasts an Art Deco design, where Twenties-style furniture is combined with bold pieces of pop art to add a twist to the traditional. It’s got a bit of a Betsey Johnson vibe I’d say. Definitively not for everyone…

New from Domus Nova (#1)

15 Mar

I got my hands on some new properties from the lovely folks over at West London estate agents Domus Nova. They always have really cool or really wacky homes on their roster. The 3 today would qualify as being somewhat wacky. Or at least out of the ordinary. Here is the first one, located in the heart of Notting Hill. It’s 3 bedrooms, oddly shaped, 3-storey, 2040 sq ft and formerly the home of singer Robbie Williams. These owners sure have eclectic taste. I’m not sure how many people have the balls to buy a monstrous eggplant coloured sectional – and then outfit it with orange and yellow pillows.

London real estate stalking #2

26 Oct

As promised, here is another Domus Nova property. This time it’s a rental, which is probably good news as I’m not sure how many buyers would be tickled pink to discover red carpeting and a bright orange bathroom. I do love how neutral the spaces are with colour brought in through furnishings. Most people do it the other way around. I think this takes far more bravery. Check out that sofa for example. Surely more of an investment than a can of paint.

London real estate stalking #1

26 Oct

The kind folks over at Domus Nova (estate agency extraordinaire) must have sensed how swamped I am these days so they ever so graciously sent over some photos of some of their latest homes for sale. This first one if fantastic for the most part – but I am not loving the sterile kitchen and what’s the purpose of 2 dining tables? The distortion thanks to the camera lenses used would certainly have me calling us Domus and asking for an appointment to view in person. I do however adore the bathroom, staircase, wood stove setup and furnishings (helloooooo TWO Papa Bear chairs!!). I’ll be posting another home shortly so stay tuned!

Funky in Notting Hill

16 Jun

London estate agency Domus Nova sent over photos from another one of their fabulous properties (see previous posts here and here). This one is a funky 2 bedroom garden maisonette, with open concept living space, long and narrow layout at about 1183 sq ft. HELLO white Panton chairs (my fav!), Flos Taraxacum 88 pendant lights, lavendar sectional, rad artwork…
