All eyes are trained at Earl’s Court, London for the announcement of the winner of the Electrolux Design Lab 2010 Competition. However there is a slight hitch and the folks at Electrolux are looking towards you for some help. An august jury has been assigned to pick the winner, but EDL believes in democracy as well. They want You the People to vote for your favorite project. The winner of the People’s Choice will hold value in the eyes of the jury and hence democracy gets to smile! Have you ever seen so much vitality in an apartment before? Usually, when we are dealing with so many colors, we have to overcome the huge risk of visually jamming up a room. However, in this situation it seems that everything is in its right place and the atmosphere that this apartment inspires is that of extreme energy and jauntiness. Especially designed for a young working couple, this house is meant to be a fusion of passions and interests. As their styles were very different and both wanted some of their own furniture to be integrated in within the new home, things were pretty challenging for the designers. All throughout the crib, you will notice interesting decorating elements such as classic wood furniture (his influence ) and unusual masks and shoes ornaments (for her). We have to say this home acted as a reminder that we should enjoy summer while it lasts. Painted entirely in white, this beautiful residence located in Costa Brava, Spain, inspires tranquility and warmth. A welcoming outdoor garden with playful and comfortable furniture greets its guests while in the same time creating a general idea of how this place feels. The interior design couldn’t be more appealing. Everything seems soothing and inviting, starting with the white walls, the original fireplace and not to mention the cheerful colors. Here is more information from the architects: “To blur the boundary between restaurant and city, Arcsine wrapped the building with a contemporary wood-panel façade, installed large operable windows, and introduced an entry canopy—made with FSC-certified Eucalyptus—that begins at the entry, winds through the lounge, and terminates at the bar.
