Zaha Hadid is working on her latest project in Italy, in the Mediterranean city of Reggio Calabria. The project includes a museum and a performing arts centre on a sea strait that separates continental Italy from the island of Sicily. The centre will be visible from the Sicilian coast.

Sort of a Masdar with mountains, Zira Island is a zero energy resort and entertainment city designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, on an island in the Caspian Sea off Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is designed to mimic “the seven peaks of Azerbaijan.”…

No matter if you plan to buy it or just use the images as inspiration, here’s a wonderful four rooms apartment in the attic of an old building in a quiet neighborhood of Stockholm. Undergoing a recent “facelift” that kept the classic design of the building, it’s really nice to see a painter’s influence in creating a perfect home for a family. Mild colors, elegant lighting appliances, a large couch and white furnishings, the most interesting parts of the apartment are the two balconies that offer rich sights of the area. I find it interesting that so many women have become leaders in the prefab movement. Pioneers were Jennifer Siegel, Rocio Romero and Michelle Kaufmann (this year’s Residential Architect of the Year). Two years ago we were big on a Cusato; now we have Copeland Casati, who is offering Green Cabin Kits. And judging by the picture, you don’t want to mess with her.

A few days ago we featured an interview with Alejandro Aravena and his project for a villa in ORDOS 100, with more than 70 images. In order to further extend the possibilities of understanding this project, Alejandro shared with us a very detailed Sketchup model that is now availabe on Google Warehouse for you to download, explore, explode, modify, share back with us and all the possibilities that Google Sketchup offers.

JDS, in collaboration with Klar, will redesign the harbour front Kalvebod Brygge as the result of a tender held by the City of Copenhagen, within the newly established ‘Metropolzone’

The Metropolzone is a major development project to upgrade a part of Copenhagen City centre, which stretches from Kalvebod Brygge to St. Jørgens Lake.
