Vintage Style Kitchens by Marchi Group - 1956 and Loft

These vintage style kitchens by Marchi Group have awoken our appetite for some retro style. The Loft and 1956 kitchens have an unmistakably old-school appeal that reminds us of Mom’s classic culinary space, pride in every last quirk.

The 1956 kitchen (above) has a country-chic aesthetic, featured in a sweet cream finish – delish! The floating cabinets and shelves are handy for added storage that keeps all your kitchen essentials close at hand. And throw-back to the streets of London, a phone booth-style door conceals the fridge.

The Loft kitchen (above) has a more industrial feel. Adding to its traditional flair, we love the ’50s-era pastel teal color complementing the steel-patchwork range hood and handles. Paired with stainless steel appliances, the look is “old-fashioned for the future.”

Check out the vintage style kitchens by visiting Marchi Group.

The Compact Kitchen

The Compact Kitchen

For many undertaking a kitchen remodel, the goal is typically to expand an already compact kitchen. However, the reality is often times some spaces cannot be enlarged or expanded by increasing the square footage. Instead maximizing a compact kitchen space and aesthetically improving it’s design and style is the most ideal way to turn a small space into a big improvement!

The Compact Kitchen

Modern and minimalist, this kitchen epitomizes the aesthetics of a compact kitchen.

The Compact Kitchen

Super space saver and super sophisticated sometimes putting the best into a small space is great on the return.

The Compact Kitchen

This compact kitchen has a more expansive feel by it’s use of open shelving, mirrors, and pass-thru counter / bar height seating. Maximizing space to it’s fullest it includes a built-in banquette dining area.

The Compact Kitchen

This is a layout I have done for many small kitchens incorpoating an island with seating and storage, prep sink optional, makes for a functional compact kitchen.

The Compact Kitchen

Classic and contemporary, sink side feels open with windows and cabinets are best placed to maximize storage.

The Compact Kitchen

A model (pun intended) example of a compact kitchen, this one in a Manhattan loft, where even the narrowest of islands provides functionality.

The Compact Kitchen

Light, bright, and airy a tiny kitchen that feels very open and even includes a little counter seating area by incorporating a tiny ledge of surface area.

The Compact Kitchen

Another kitchen with an island and bar height seating, not to mention a full height cabinet help to make this compact kitchen feel more open.

The Compact Kitchen

Taking cabinets full height (to the ceiling) is a great idea to make any kitchen feel larger, whether or not it’s compact.

Favourite kitchens of 2011 – part 2

7 Jan

I had to check the post title after the first half-dozen pics – surely you meant the most unliveable living rooms of 2011? But, no. Odd. Cramped and over-furnitured quarters offering barked shins for anyone attempting access, uncomfortable seating with a resting place for a cuppa nowhere within reach, a glass table poised to do real damage in a colorful deathtrap of a room… All the beautiful and comfortable rooms I’ve found on this site! I can’t imagine what the qualifications were when you chose these are representative of being ‘favorite’.
