Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills

8 Feb

If you haven’t already heard of Villa Blanca Restaurant, you may soon start hearing a lot more about this restaurant located in Beverly Hills.

The owners are Lisa Vanderpump Todd and her husband, Ken Todd.  Lisa happens to be one of the real housewives slated for the upcoming Bravo TV show, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Not only is she a former actress and restaurateur, but she also designed the interiors of Villa Blanca.

Lisa says she wanted the decor to be “sexy, white, clean, comfortable and inspired…gorgeous art, stylish furnishings and creative music selections will bring life and style to the space. The ambiance will be extremely important to the experience of eating at Villa Blanca—flowers, lighting, chairs, staff—every aspect will look great. If the ambiance isn’t great, you might as well stay home and order take-out.”

Fabulous flower arrangements are in integral part of the decor at Villa Blanca.

Villa Blanca is located at 9601 Brighton Way in Beverly Hills

Eiffel Lamp, A Little Closer to Paris ?

Eiffel Lamp, A Little Closer to Paris ?

Murillo is a company whose business is something that runs in the family as skills were passed on from the father to the two suns currently managing the firm.  We found a few interesting items on their site and today we would like to present the Eiffel lamp, an unusual lighting item. This may not really look like the symbol of Paris, but you could put your imagination to the test and find some resemblances. The product was made from powder coated iron frame with abaca rope weaving. The result is appealing and rather rustic. We think this is an item that would go great indoors as well as integrated in an outdoor decor. It is produced in two sizes (the classical Big and Small) and can be ordered online here.

Greenspotlight: Hanging Streetlight Planters Appear in the Netherlands

8 Jan

Some of design’s most satisfying moments occur when two seemingly unrelated objects are married effectively into something that is much more than the sum of its parts. That’s exactly what happened on a small pedestrian street in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, which was dotted with numerous lampposts and small planters that were serving more as clutter than as functional objects. Addressing the issue elegantly, design firm BYTR suggested combining the problematic obstacles into unique, floating streetlights with lush, living lampshades. The design, simply called the GREENSPOTLIGHT, was an instant hit. Who wouldn’t prefer these leafy light fixtures hanging overhead to awkward posts and pots blocking your way on a narrow path?

Spanish Country Home: Simplicity and Style

Spanish Country Home: Simplicity and Style

This lovely home has a simple and yet cosy architecture plan. Located in a beautiful country area in Spain, it is a great place for a peaceful retreat.  Even though the exterior may be considered plain- we are dealing with a country house, don’t forget that- the inside elements make up for this fact. What is striking about the overall arrangement is the fact that the kitchen, living room and the dining room are all located in the same space and they make for one single room. However, if you look at the pictures, you will notice that everything is in its right place. Moreover, the lighting is very god and the overall idea is that of space. Warm and inviting, with bits of color here and there, it almost seems that this house calls out for a relaxing holiday. -via Inspiring Interiors

The Clara Apartments and townhouses, located in South Yarra, is designed to make a connection between the landscape and the built form – with an emphasis on environment through the use of systematic compositions. Clara, South Yarra is about ‘place’. It is the development of an environment that harmonises built form with landscape that respects the scale and diversity of the surround, and pays tribute to the hidden garden.

Modern Classic Lamps from Lamp – new Marea range

23 Mar

lampnet-lamp-marea-1.jpg

The new Marea modern lamps from Lamp are a perfect blend of modernity and elegance. With all the grace of a modern classic, the clarity and lightness of the lamps is immediately apparent. Feminine, waving lines rendered in fine satin glass and glittering Swarovski crystals make the design unforgettable. In a demonstration of skilled craftsmanship, the satin glass undergoes a porcelain water-jet treatment to etch the abstract motif. The shade is then curved and sanded to reveal the transparency of the glass. There is Marea for any application – the floor-standing; the table lamp or the ceiling-suspended lamp will provide for your every lighting need. The versatile nature of the design means that large, customised projects can also be realised. Contact Lamp for more information.

These floral chandeliers from Elizabeth Lyons will add a feminine finishing touch to your home interior…
