More from Jason MacLean

13 Sep

Mangerton House by MacLean Interiors. Love the kitchen. Think of the wonderful times cooking for friends and family gathered around that table. The tiles. The shelves.  The pink! Needless to say the shower screen is fabulous. A touch of whimsy in white bright room. Still with a house like this and a location so picturesque how could you go wrong?

Cool Bar Stools by Fabio Vinella

13 Sep

Off the top of our head (pun intended!), we can think of three reasons the Picciotto cool bar stool by Fabio Vinetta is a must-have, starting with its unusual chapeau-inspired seat. Call it what you will – the paper boy, drivers cap, derby, cheese-cutter or paddy – we call it “awesome”! Like its inspiration, this modern bar stool is a casual “personality” piece for your home. This brings us to the second reason we love this cool stool – comfort. Available in a bar stool and countertop stool design, you can add instant ahhh to the kitchen, breakfast bar or another type of bar that serves up something a little stiffer than eggs and coffee! Last but not least, the Picciotto bar stool comes in a full range of colors and patterns, and like a hat that you wear, these stools reflect your sense of style. Hats off to this one! The best of both worlds

6 Sep

One minute I love modern…and the next minute I love rustic. Every now and then I come across a home that has both, but this home is pretty much the extreme of what is modern and rustic. It is located in Jaffa, Tel Aviv and from what Google translator told me, it is at least a century old and has been restored and modernized. I am taken with the juxtaposition of the stone arches with the polished concrete floors and sleek cabinetry and furnishings. (via Mimdap)

Cute Stove – La Graciosa by Palazzetti

2 Sep

What’s not to love about this cute stove? La Graciosa by Palazzetti, designed in collaboration with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, features a lovable hearts motif – this designer’s hallmark – complemented by a heart-shaped window through which a flickering flame dances behind glass. And we absolutely love the retro shape of this stove – a gently rounded, rectangular vertical silhouette that is instantly at home in any space. This pellet stove is fully programmable, and features constant heat and even distributes via radiation and convection technology, and made of Hot Stone material, it gradually heats up and stays hot long after it’s been turned off. This cute stove is sure to keep your home hot, hot, hot – not just in temperature, but also in style. More information on La Graciosa is available by visiting Palazzetti.

Reader’s home

23 Aug

Andreia lives in the centre of the village of Odeceixe in the Algarve in southern Portugal. Down by the sea she has remodelled Casa Alba, the white house, into two holiday rentals. Casa de Cima and Casa de Baixo. The up house and the down house. Dibs on the up house. Love the simplicity. Love the laid back feel. Holidays down by the Mediterranean are all about sun and sand, fun and swimsuits, and espadrilles and sarongs, chilled wine, seafood and a sweet little holiday flat to suit.
