Maison Fire, the Italian maker of exclusive bio-fireplaces, presents this cool, mobile fireplace that brings the heat wherever you want it. Inside or out, the Spazzacamino mobile fireplace will indeed be a hot focal point, both in terms of looks and temperature. The innovative fireplace enclosure by designers Mirko Varischi, Tania Alessio and Andrea Bremer is inspired by a trash can but boasts an ironically clean and contemporary finish as a modern twist. Topping off this funky fireplace design is a “garbage can” lid that you can use to extinguish the flame. This mobile fireplace will be a hotspot at your next soiree – especially with cooler temperatures on the horizon. But regardless of the weather, whether indoors or out, the Spazzacamino fireplace is a hot home essential. For details visit Maison Fire.

We have to say we are particularly fond of home additions on Freshome, as we consider them very challenging. Maison Roly comes from AABE Erpicum & Partners and is actually a bed&breakfast located in Belgium. Since the owners needed extra space, the plan was to expand the house by adding an exterior living-room enclosed in glass. The new extension opens generously towards the beautiful surrounding landscape and offers thrilling views to the people inside. Even though it is very hard to create an aesthetic contrast between old and new, this particular design intrigued us. After all, we imagine it feels really nice to make a few steps and go from a rustic interior into a contemporary one and experience them both within the same residence. What are your opinions regarding this modern addition?-via reflexdeco

From FABRE/deMARIEN architectes, Maison 51 is a modern home situated in a central district of Bordeaux, France. Its compact shape and seemingly cold exterior hides a cozy contemporary home with a fresh look. We enjoy the black and white contrast that is given by the window borders and the painted walls. Inside, this contributes to a fun mixture of colors which cheers up the whole design. The windows have different characteristics depending on their location: some of them are entrance doors or connect the rooms with the balconies, other have the common functionality of providing light and airing when needed. The patio and the private garden are a great place for relaxation.

More and more homes these days have a color theme. We would like to show you Maison NW, a work studio located in Saint-Ouen, near Paris, but also a private colorful home. The huge workshop spreads over an area of 1,937 square feet and has three levels. Architect Nathalie Wolberg is the owner of this place which is said to carry “her own personality, own desires, passions, even pathological deficiencies”. We think the living space looks really cool and unusual. The approach is a modern one, and the lighting effects are quite spectacular. The stairs connecting the three floors are also unusual, some might say a bit dangerous, due to the fact that there is no hand-grab available. We absolutely love the net in the forth picture and we think it is an idea that could be applied at a large scale.-via Archinect

An elegant, classic bathroom style collection for 2009 from Antonio Lupi. The Sartoriale bathtub, Cupola and Tuba sinks, and the Robo faucets were presented at Maison&Object 2009 in Paris – meaning these are the newest trends, as well as timeless classics! Basically, the bathroom collection centres on the outstandingly wide edge detail of the pristine white ceramic range. The Sartoriale bathtubs, Cupola sinks and Tuba sinks incorporate this wide lip effect to create an accessible and inviting range. The Cupola is available as two washstand models and also as a washbasin. The iconic matching faucets, known as ‘Robo’ are sweepingly modern with unusually flattened spouts. If you prefer, you can also opt for a direct, cylindrical spout that emerges unexpectedly from the above flattened form. Playing with the thickness of the ceramic and steel bathroom items, this range from Antonio Lupi is destined for success.
