Inspired by global economic crisis, the Anti Crise chair merges the notion of saving piggy-bank-style with a modern chair design that you can break open when you’re broke! Like a piggy-bank, simply fill the hollow chair with coins using the slot at the top of the back. When the time is right, remove the saw embedded in the back of the chair and saw away! After collecting the reward, the hollow space that’s left can be use to hold magazines or other items.

The clever design’s bold, red accents subtly suggest a theme of “emergency.”

Definitely picnic material!

Some designers want you to stand up to wake up, others want you to stretch but Pedro Gomes wants you to play with the toy-like Sleepy Alarm Clock! Spin the spoodle and it allows you to sleep for a wee bit longer. Overall a cute design that will fit perfectly in the children’s room. What I dig the most is the fun, interactive way we can change the time by simply moving the ball back and forth.

Originally designed for the Caesarstone Design Competition, designer Pedro Gomes’s creative and fluid table design would serve as an amazing furniture piece for those of us who love the heavy reflective quality of quartz surfacing.  A curvilinear but grounded design, the storage space and smooth, simple surface allows the table design to serve several interesting uses.  It might be a great desk for a bright, open room, a creative coffee table to complement your wide living room arrangement or an accent table for condensed loft or apartment spaces.  It might even be interesting to see its application outdoors as well, possibly as a serving table for those summer barbeques. – via
