Interior Design Sense

White, bright and just right. Last night we had a veterinarian come by the house to give our cats a checkup (easier than taking all 7 of them in). At one point we were talking about our upcoming house project and she mentioned that her brother is a well-known architect in Toronto and has a firm with his wife called AGATHOM Co. Their website is currently a little sparse, but included photos of one project that I had to share (I found a few more and some info on Contemporist). It is a 1000 sq ft cabin in Pointe au Baril, a remote archipelago in Georgian Bay (3.5 hours north of Toronto) on a large area of exposed Precambrian rock. AMAZING!! Over the holidays we received an email from Jacqui, a design assistant at Natalie Younger Interior Design based in Los Angeles. I was stoked to feature this firm’s work, as they’ve only been in business for over a year and they’ve got several intriguing projects already under their belt (mostly residential, but check out the last 2 photos below of a restaurant they designed). Bold, contemporary designs accentuated with graphic patterns and colours, from Hawaii to Colorado, these ladies are talented and have a bright future ahead.

You’re either a pink person or you’re not.  I happen to be a big pink person!  It just a really, really happy color.  It’s practically a neutral -  I mean it goes with every color!  I decided to dedicate this FF to the color pink…

Hi All!  Happy New Year!  It’s been a really busy time around here…You know Christmas, New Years, Sadie turned 1.  I can’t believe that happened.   I wanted to share a few pictures from my little one’s big day.  We actually had her party on New Year’s Eve (during the day).  Naturally hosting a party for 25-30 in our two bedroom apartment sent me into a little bit of a tailspin, but we had so much fun at the party!

The theme was basically “girly zoo.”  That means lots of pink and oranges!

Today is a great day. My French test is finally done (so please say a little prayer that I got the mark I needed) and I can finally have my life back and hopefully finish my Christmas preparations – well, present shopping and wrapping is all as I won’t have time to bake/decorate or anything else. Before I get my arse in gear for all that I thought I’d take a few minutes and point out that there is a UK digital interiors magazine called Heart Home that you all MUST check out. It’s frankly up there with Rue and Lonny. Seriously. A big thanks to Carole, one of the mag’s 3 editors, for emailing us to let us know. Here are some of my favourite photos from the 2 issues they have launched so far.
