Glass Coffee Tables Collection From Tunelli

1 Mar

Tunelli is an Italian company founded in the mid 1980s who designs and produces furniture items in glass. We really enjoyed looking through their portfolio and our choice for you guys is this amazing contemporary collection of coffee tables. With a high regard to aesthetic effect, the company created these items in order to bring a plus of refinement and style to a room. Some of the products have very original shapes and go great with modern environments. Others come with with a storage space for fruit bowls and magazines. We took a special interest in the ones that have two or even three separate components, even though from a practical point of view, one would probably prefer a coffee table built from only one piece. Which one do you like best?

Furniture made from Advanced Composite Materials by GAEAforms

25 Feb

The snazzy modern furniture from GAEAforms caught my eye, what can I say I love the clean lines and lustrous finishes that accentuate their diverse color palate. Since 2003 GAEAforms has worked to advance the use of composite materials and the functional shapes that can be made from them. Here are examples of their “01 Storage Unit” in Yellow, the “Bookshelf” in White, and the “Step Bench” in Black. See more here.

A Stunning Combination Between Classic and Modern : Abril Furniture Collection

Abril is the latest collection of furniture from MOBILFRESNO, expected to be launched this April. The elegant set brings together dining chairs, bed frames, interesting wardrobes and great looking night-stands. The designers like to say they are “suffused with the self-same light of the serenity and elegance of April”. Leaving poetry aside and looking at these interior from a practical point of view, we can not help but noticing a harmonious combination between classic and contemporary. The items go great in combination but can also be purchased individually and be integrated in any  similar classic-modern environment.  Elegant and refined, some of the products (such as the desks) could also be used as office furniture. The unusual shapes contribute to the collection’s originality. Feeling inspired? -via 3rings

Ekokook : Perhaps The Future in Kitchen Design

Ekokook : Perhaps The Future in Kitchen Design

Ekokook comes from  Faltazi design and is said to be the kitchen of the future. A lot of research stood at the basis of this design and led to a kitchen that respects all the standards of modern living combined with sustainability as well. This kitchen of the future is made out of two functional parts. The inferior one, somehow reminding one of a classic kitchen as we know it, includes a fridge, a dish washing machine,  “drawers” for plates and tableware and other spaces meant for storage. Beneath all these lies an intricate system of waste disposal, including five separate systems for five materials: glass, paper, cans, plastic and organic waste. The superior part features plenty of green shapes, some of them meant as storage bowls, other having technological utility (like absorbing the steam, for example). Check out the photos and the video for a better understanding. -via Inhabitat

Bathtub Wich Lights Up In The Dark From Lucedentro

Bathtub Wich Lights Up In The Dark From Lucedentro

Here is a great idea for unconventional and romantic lighting in the bathroom: a tub that illuminates the whole room without any help from its owners. From Lucedentro, this bathtub features a mosaic of seemingly usual shapes that manage to create a unique atmosphere once the lights go off. Due to photoluminescent ceramic tiles, this bathtub accumulates light during the day and glows in the dark. It works just like any other fluorescent elements you certainly must of heard of, such as those shaped as stars kids use in their bedrooms for example. The tub spreads light all over its surface, including in the interior, creating a great effect when it is filled with water. The producers assure us that this is perfectly safe. -via Dvice

Unusual Tubs and Inspiring Bathroom Interiors

Unusual Tubs and Inspiring Bathroom Interiors

Sometimes an unusual item placed intentionally in the spot light can set the whole mood and atmosphere of that room. When it comes to bathrooms, we got used to classic tubs, in a rectangular form, most of them in a white finish. We found a very creative collection of bathtubs here, that defy these strict rules. Not only are do they have a creative shape, but their color stands out as well. Some of them even have additional elements, such as legs or other peripheral shapes. What is extremely interesting about the images below is the fact that they are placed in a matching environment. These interiors are  fresh, creative and they all have a unique personality. The colors, plants and decorating features contribute to their originality. Which one do you prefer?

Rolf Benz 1210 Glass Dining Table

2 Feb

The glass dining table here is made by Rolf Benz and is called 1210. It was designed by Georg Appelshauser. This model has the most legroom of any dining table from Rolf Benz. The base is quite sturdy despite its overall sculptural look. In the 1210 model, the glass can also come in round, oval and boat shapes. More information: here.

Cindarella Table, Inspired by the Design of the 17th Century

Cindarella Table, Inspired by the Design of the 17th Century

From Duch artist Jeroen Verhoeven, we would like to present a table that definitely does not lack personality. In fact, its identity can be searched back into the 17th century, in the times of “archetypal shapes of tables and commodes” , as it was inspired by the how furniture looked four centuries ago. What is striking about this product is its elaborate production method. Here is a statement from the designer:  “This process took three months to perfect. The virtual design was ’sliced’ and each of the 57 slices, each 80mm thick (a total of 741 layers of plywood), was fabricated by CNC (computer numerically controlled) cutting machines, working on three, and sometimes five axes.  Each slice was cut from the front and from the back to perfect the curves and undercuts, pushing the boundaries of the technology. All the slices were assembled and the entire object, which is a hollow plywood form, was finished by hand.” A lot of work for an apparently easy-to-make table, don’t you think? There were only 20 of these  made, most of them purchased by museums. – via BookofJoe

The "Neverending" Modern Seating System by Luca Nichetto

19 Jan

Designer Luca Nichetto used flowing sheets of Corian to create the “Neverending” seating elements that twist their way around individual seats of various sizes and shapes. Nichetto was inspired by the “random and never ending elements not presenting a precise direction for disposition”. The Neverending seating system was developed for Andreoli. Via
