Scholten & Baijings Design Bed Linen For Hay

2 Feb

At the recently held  Maison & Objet show in Paris, Denmark-based company Hay showcased their new collection of bed linen, designed by Scholten & Baijings. The collection is distinctively contemporary and is a striking mesh of pastels, fluorescent colors and dramatic graphics. The color palette of neon green, hot pink, magenta etc gives it an oddly Eighties vibe, yet the oversized blocks which appears like pixels makes it very relevant in todays time. With this visually stimulating collection, Scholten & Baijings have successfully managed to translate their creativity into sustainable design and the end result is an alluring medley of pulsating hues and bold blocks.

Incredible Rock Office is Built From the Ground Up With Simple Stones

Rock Office is a unique structure that sits on a precarious piece of land in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Commissioned as an architecture and construction office with an included gallery, the building expresses a playful minimalism. The project’s use of simple materials like raw stone contributes a surprising element that looks extraordinary at a large scale. The exterior, while only a couple years old, has the presence of a much older building, like a modernist reconstructed ruin.

Design a Symbol for Bioplastics in Cereplast’s “Make Your Mark” Contest!

20 Jan

Click here to view the embedded video.

Calling all green graphic designers!

Did you know you can’t recycle bioplastics? A single bioplastic container thrown in a batch of recycled PET will ruin the whole batch and make it non recyclable. There is a lot of confusion amongst consumers as to what bioplastic is and how to dispose of it properly — with this in mind, Cereplast, Inc. just launched a design competition that offers you the opportunity to “make your mark” on a new generation of green products made from bioplastics. They’re looking for a symbol that can be stamped onto products to show that they are made from green, bio-based materials, and they’re offering $25,000 to one grand prize winner – so enter today!
